Aoife's Christmas letter from last year

From Aoife's point of view - I am going to try to do this every year, until she can start doing them herself! We send them to all family members in our home made christmas cards.

Merry Christmas everyone!

I have had such a fun time this past year, and it has got me thinking about all the things I have done, and all the things I have learnt! I’ve certainly been very clever this year, so I definitely deserve a present from Father Christmas!

I learnt how to sit up at the age of five months in January! Mummy and Daddy was so happy with me!

On the 6^th February, Daddy let me help him propose to Mummy! Daddy helped me give the chocolate to Mummy that said “Marry Me” on. I was such a big helper, and I’m so glad I was there to help!

On the 26th February, Mummy and Daddy had me christened at St Michael’s Church, in memory of my Great-Grandad (Rumour has it that he was the most amazing man ever! I’m sure Mummy will teach me all about him as I get bigger). I wore a very pretty dress, and I didn’t even cry when I got baptised! I’m so brave! Lots of friends and family came, which made me happy! Oh, and I also got lots of gifts, but I couldn’t open them as Mummy said I was a bit small. But I did enjoy putting the wrapping paper in my mouth!

In April, Mummy and I arranged a surprise party for Daddy at Nanny Flanagan’s house! It went a bit wrong but Daddy still loved it! And I had my first go on a Bouncy Castle! It was very fun!

I learnt to crawl in May, which was so fun because I could now go where I want, and get to things I’m not supposed too! Mummy had to have eyes everywhere! Mummy and Daddy played crawling games with me every evening, and I loved following them everywhere around our home!

I also went to the beach for first time! It was so nice there, and we had a lovely time! I loved dipping my toes in the sea!

I got my first two teeth in July! I always wondered when mine were going to make an appearance! Mummy and Daddy thought they’d come a lot sooner because apparently I used to dribble loads! Two weeks later, I decided to take my first steps! It was so fun! And I soon became a pro like Mummy, Daddy and the rest of my family! Mummy took me on lots of walks, and I loved exploring our neighbourhood, especially the park! The swings are my favourite!

In August, we went to the Zoo for the first time! I did like the weird furry things but I much preferred testing out my new found walking skills! Mummy brought the pushchair but she doesn’t realise that I don’t want it anymore. I’M A BIG GIRL! I had a brilliant summer, and it was even better that Daddy got six weeks holiday!

I also turned the big ONE! Mummy and Daddy threw me not one, but TWO parties! I had lots of fun and lots of my little friends and family came along! I got lots of presents too, but I was mostly interested in the paper! I loved my Piano from Nanny Flanagan, and I still love to sing my songs whilst playing with it! I also LOVED my trampoline from Nana Paice! Mummy and Daddy say I go ‘crazy’ when I bounce on it, but I just think they are jealous! I also got a big girls quad bike from Grandad Fuller, but I must admit, it did scare me when I first rode it! I can’t wait until I’m bigger so I can speed around the house on it! My final favourites was my Pram from Nanny Butler, and my baby dolly from my Auntie Tasha, Uncle Craig and my cousins. I love playing with my babies, and I really like to feed them some of my milk (but shhhh don’t tell Mummy). I got so many wonderful presents, and when I can say ‘Thank you’, I will make sure I do .

I dressed up as a Spider for Halloween this year, and went to a baby disco! Did I tell you I love to dance? Its my favourite hobby! I love all kinds of music, and will dance to anything! Everyone finds it funny, and I love to make people laugh! Daddy says I get the funny gene from him, but Mummy says I’m funnier than Daddy! I like it when my Auntie Frankie comes over and lets me on her super cool phone! I also like to steal my Uncle Dean’s phone too! I like to ring people from it! It’s so fun! Infact, I just like all mobile phones! I hope my Mummy and Daddy have bought me one for Christmas!!

I made it into the final top ten of a beautiful baby competition! Mummy and Daddy were over the moon! And I’m famous now because I made it into a magazine!

I also got asked to do some modelling for a baby company and had to go to London for a photo-shoot! My auntie Shannon, and Mummy came with me!

I’ve recently been to my first Christmas party dressed as Mrs Claus. I was so scared of the man in the red and white suit, (apparently his name is Santa?) But he did give me some chocolate, so I suppose he wasn’t that bad!

I can only say ‘Daddy’ and ‘Hiya’ at the moment, but when I can talk, I’m not ever going to stop!

I am looking forward to another fun filled year with my Mummy and Daddy and my lovely aunties, uncles, nanny’s and granddad’s, and friends.
