Micheldever Woods
I love taking photos, and going for long walks. I especially like taking photos of my children so when I heard that Micheldever have a reputation of having a beautiful display of bluebells in their woods, I was very excited to go and check it out!
Play
We have been twice now, once when it was raining, once when it was sunny and both time we had a lot of fun! We took our puddlesuits and wellies when it was raining and splashed in the puddles. There is lots of opportunities to get muddy and wet, when it's been raining. My daughters favourite thing to do is puddle jumping so she absolutely loved finding big puddles and sticks and stones to throw in the puddles! There are a few different routes to walk through and they vary in distance. And there are lots of cut throughs and paths through out the wood. Perfect place to explore, and let their imaginations run wild!
There is also a wooden play area, which is really fun. And a long balancing beam that runs quite a bit through the woods! My daughter was getting tired at this point so wouldn't let me play on the play equipment with her!
Food
There is no food facilities here at all and it is quite out of the way of everything so if you plan on coming here for a while I would probably suggest bringing a picnic or snacks to nibble along the way! And a drink!
Baby Changing Facilities
Unfortunately, there aren't any baby changing facilities here either. But I didn't let this put me off as I don't mind changing in the car ect. Same goes for breast feeding/feeding. I breast fed my baby in the car and sat on a log in the woods which was fine! Quite relaxing too!
Facilities
There aren't any toilets which is a bit of a problem. So make sure you go beforehand. My daughter doesn't mind going in a secluded area, and we always bring a pack of wipes!
Dogs are also welcome!
Parking
There is a large car park, and each time I've been there has had a lot of spaces! It's perfect because it's right in front of the wooden play area too if that's all you wanted to come and do! It's also free which is even better!
Prices
It's free! 😀
Tips
I would make sure you plan the journey beforehand as we found it very difficult to find! We got lost and had to stop off at the Forestry Comission office to give us directions as it doesn't seem to be signposted anywhere, which is quite silly as I can imagine a lot of people miss the beauty of this place!
In late April/May the bluebells come out, and there is a display of stunning bluebells across the forest floor which is a beautiful sight to see. And if your like me and love great photo opportunities, this is perfect! I managed to get some fantastic photos of my babies amongst the bluebells!
Bring wellies or old footwear you don't mind getting muddy - my converse are now ruined!
Make sure you bring snacks and refreshments with you!

Rating out of 5
I would give this a 4/5. It would have been a 5 if it was easy to find and signposted, and if it had facilities ect. But you can't really complain if it's a free day out and you can spend hours here having fun. It would be amazing in the summer! If you love the outdoors, this is a lovely place to go!
