Over the weekend..
On saturday morning, my Mum, Aoife & I, went to see the vicar to arrange her christening and we have a date booked for 26th February 2012 =), I can't wait. I don't have a particular reason for wanting her christened, but myself and the whole side of my family is and I want to carry on the tradition. I also believe in certain aspects of the bible, and I believe that their must be 'something', whatever it is, up 'there'. I wouldn't like to think that we live this life, just to die, what would be the point? It would be so heartbreaking if that was the case, never to see your loved ones after you or they've passed. And if you don't believe, then what keeps us going? I would love to know, but I think the reason why we don't is to test our strength and beliefs. We've chosen our godparents - which are Samantha Rowe, and Neil Paice. I wanted Sami to be Aoife's god mummy because I know she will make the most amazing one, and will treat Aoife like her own =), she is kind, thoughtful, and just a really lovely person. I haven't known her that long, but I know that she is 100% genuine and trustworthy and I can tell her anything, and she has grown to become my best friend. She has pretty much been there since I found out I was pregnant, and has been a constant friend through out. She has a heart of gold, and I know Aoife is very lucky to have Sami as her God Mummy =), and Aoife will love her just as much as I do! We chose Neil, (Joe's stepdad) because we want him to feel like he has a big part in Aoife's life, and although he is Aoife's Step Grandad, we want him to feel like he's just as important as a biological grandparent, and we know if it came to it, we would trust him completely with Aoife's life, the same goes for Sami =).
We didn't take Aoife swimming in the end, because on Saturday she was still a bit grizzly from her jabs, and on Sunday, we were too busy moving her big girls cot into our room. We've decided to put her into her cot because she's started hitting her arms against the side of the moses basket, and in a few weeks she won't fit at all! She loves her new bed, and has been sleeping longer the last couple of nights. On Sunday night she went from 11-4:30 and then again to 7am. And on Monday she went 12-7! I'm hoping this is the start of her sleeping through the night! So we are taking her swimming this weekend instead now, and I can't wait!
