Baby Arwen ❤️

In March 2016, we found out we were expecting baby Fuller number three! After saying on our wedding day in July 2015, that it would be nice to have another. I had previously had two perfect pregnancies, loved every minute of both of them so was just expecting to have another perfect pregnancy. But no, from the very beginning, I was sick or had no energy. More feeling sick than anything but it was awful. Then at the end, the part which I love the most, I was terribly ill. Perforated eardrums, severe heartburn, so uncomfortable, swollen face, hands ect. We debated whether to find out the gender or not - well I wanted it to be a surprise but we decided to go with a vote and Joe, Aoife and Everly decided against me and wanted to find out. We found out we were having another little girl! Every time I went to the midwife, they would find something in my urine - blood, protein ect, apparently nothing though. Everytime I saw the midwife I was always poorly too. I also got huge this time round.
I was due on the 11th December 2016 but I went 8 days overdue - midwife booked me in for a sweep but I declined it. After having two with Everly, I had been put off and decided that if baby was ready, she will come when she wanted too.

On 19th December, I took Aoife to her friends Pizza Express birthday party in the morning and in the afternoon I went to visit my Dad and left Joe at home with the little ones. Walking back home, it was quite dark so I kind of ran back, but it was down a huge hill - sounds absolutely crazy looking back now, heavily pregnant running down a hill! I got home, everything was fine. We took the little ones out in the car to find some christmas lights (a tradition of ours).
I remember laying in bed, (can't remember if I had already been asleep, and woken up or just still awake) but it was about 1am, and I felt a weird pop sound between my legs. I thought to myself, thats a weird noise and felt a bit strange too, then no more than a few seconds later, I felt hot water trickle between my legs, I jumped up in surprise (I never experienced my waters breaking before). Then an almighty gush came out. I said to Joe, something along the lines of "Oh my god, Joe my waters have broke". And him being half asleep "What do you mean? What does that mean then? I'm just so tired". My contractions started coming very quickly before that and within half hour they were every five minutes so after ringing labour line and telling them that I think I needed to be seen and that I had, had some green gunge in my waters, they told us to come up. Aoife & Everly were fast asleep so their Uncle Dean stayed at ours with them.

After we got to the hospital, (waters still gushing), a midwife told us that baby had pooped inside me - I still think that was my fault for running down that hill! I was examined and told that I was only 3cm dilated but the pain was very strong by this point, and thinking back to how Everly's was - 6cm was when it got painful for me so I thought I was bound to be around the same. The contractions showing up on my chart were also showing up really strong so they midwife started to become worried and called in an anaesthetist where they asked me a few questions and told me that my contractions were coming in too fast but I was dilating quickly enough to keep up with it so they gave me an injection to slow down my contractions, aswell as hooked me up to a drip of fluids. (Still not sure why this was). A couple of hours later, everything seemed to be going normally, I was dilating properly and contractions were becoming more and more regular. I decided to go with Gas & Air again as I found it worked amazingly with Everly! I threw up, and was really shivery during this labour. I was under a blanket up until I started pushing aswell - I was just so cold! Then the midwife told me that they needed to put a clip on baby's head so they can track baby's heartbeat as they were struggling too on the monitor. Then it was time to push - this time round I felt so numb and didn't really know when to push. I pooped on the table, to which the midwife informed me quite alot of people do! Haha - this labour was so different to Everly's! I didn't think I was able to push the head out, it honestly felt so much bigger compared to Everly's (I know I keep comparing it to Everly's a lot, I just never realised how different two natural births can be). As soon as I pushed our baby into world, I felt how big she was, she was so much heavier than Aoife and Everly ever were at birth and when they placed her on top of me, the first thing I said was "Wow she's big". The midwife said "Yeah she's easily an 8lber" which I was gobsmacked by - I have such a small body, how could I push out a baby that size haha! I was even more surprised for them to tell us that she was infact 8lbs 11oz!! No wonder it felt so much different - she was a whole pound bigger than Everly and 2lbs bigger than Aoife was at birth!

Our daughter, Arwen Eira Tommy Fuller, was born on the 19th December at 06:08am. And made us fall completely in love all over again. She has fitted into our lives so perfectly and we are so infatuated with her and her amazing little personality.

Joe chose the name Arwen after his crush on Princess Arwen from Lord of The Rings (He has wanted this name since we were expecting Everly). Aoife chose the name Eira - she desperately wanted this as her first name, and I also loved it but we said it went beautifully as a middle name. I have no idea where she got it from but we loved it - it also means snow, which is quite fitting as she was born in December! Tommy - I chose this and I really wanted it as her first name too. Tommy is after Joe's Grandad that passed away in 2015, and Joe's middle name is Thomas too. I absolutely love her name, and it suits her so much!

I really wanted to write down as much as I could remember about Arwen's birth because its been playing on my mind for a while now that I couldn't recall a lot of it! I was lucky enough to get Everly's birth recorded and Aoife's was so straightforward with having a caesarean section that I can remember theirs perfectly but for some reason Arwen's is a bit hazy!

And now I'm sat here broody, wanting another one. So I think I might run that one past Joe! ;)
